The autonomous practice.
STATUS · GOING LIVE · NOVEMBER 2026
In February 2027 I set off from Sydney to ride back to Paris: eight months on the road. Seven agent-operated systems take over the practice and the studio that funds the expedition. This page will publicly report what they hold, what they cost and what they miss, unfiltered and incidents included.
System state
Not live yet
The systems are built between November 2026 and January 2027. Real measurements appear here once they go live. No number is published before it is measured.
Scope follows the arbitrated portfolio: a system appears here when it is kept, and leaves when it is cut.
What will be measured
Components
7 systems tracked
- Under construction
Agent-operated studio
The back office of the studio funding the expedition: quotes, delivery, follow-ups, weekly P&L. This is the system whose automation rate reads in euros rather than tickets.
- Under construction
Content publishing
Fortnightly newsletter and posts shipped from a batch prepared before departure, with no live intervention.
- Under construction
Inbox triage & waiting list
Incoming requests sorted, auto-replied and captured on the waiting list, across every time zone.
- Under construction
Field collection
A ten-minute hotel protocol per night, interviews translated on the fly, an audio journal recorded while riding and edited afterwards. The material structures itself; it is never re-entered by hand.
- Under construction
Weekly AI watch
Weekly digest of AI news, synthesised and prioritised without manually reading feeds.
- Under construction
Reporting & AI budget
KPIs and inference bill compiled automatically at month end, with no manual data entry. This reporting feeds the figure shown above.
- Under construction
Trip ops
Budget, border paperwork and maintenance tracked in batch and cache. Connectivity forces frugality; the AI budget in euros is what proves it.
Why publish this
Everyone claims their agents run in production. Almost nobody shows the invoice or the outages. A system that holds for eight months without supervision, with its real monthly cost on display, is the only demonstration I find honest, and it applies to what I advise in the enterprise.
Follow the build
One edition every two weeks.
What an agent system actually costs, what breaks, and what it changes for a CIO. One field constraint, one lesson that applies in the enterprise. Not a travel diary.

Published before go-live: it states what will be measured. Real values replace the dashes from November 2026.
